Zach is the Founder and Principal at Jenkins Wealth Strategies Group. Working with his clients over the years, he has always found that every person has the same worry front of mind: “Will my family and I be ok in retirement?” The answer to this question is rarely an easy one, and it is definitely not the same for everyone.
He believes that the most important step in the financial journey is not chasing the latest trend or finding the newest tool - the most important step is building a relationship together. Relationships are extremely important to Zach, and he knows that listening is the foundation of creating an effective strategy.
Zach's philosophy around financial guidance can best be described as building a structurally sound “Financial House.” To create and protect wealth, one must first have a solid foundation on which to grow. His practice strives to empower and educate on how to build your “Financial House” and also how to maintain over the years to come.
Zach was born in Southern Ohio and grew up on a corn and tobacco farm. His upbringing taught him the value of discipline and goal setting.
As a young man, he was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts and was the Bugler for his Troop until he was 18. On the morning of his 16th birthday, Zach held his Board of Review to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout.
One of his true passions in life is music. When in grade school, Zach’s oldest sister placed her high school trumpet in his hands and, since that day, he has been involved in some sort of band or musical performance. In all 4 years of high school, Zach was the President of the Ironton High School Million Dollar Marching Band.
Zach was accepted to the only University he ever wanted to attend: The Ohio State University. While there, he obtained his degrees in Psychology and Music. He was also a member of The Ohio State University Marching Band where he met his wife their Freshman year.
He and his wife became members of The Washington Redskins Marching Band when they moved to the DC area in 2012 until its dissolution in 2021.
When Zach is not with his clients, you can find him either on the golf course or spending time with his family and pets. He and his wife have a Norwegian Elkhound named Siggy, a German Shepherd named Sasha, and a Maine Coon named Freyja.
Zach serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Norwegian Society of Washington DC - a social organization designed to promote strong cultural ties across the Atlantic Ocean and to create a meeting place for people interested in Norway.
He also supports local organizations serving first responders, teachers, and nurses.
